After studying at upper secondary school in Ystad, he started work as a copyist at Sydsvenska Dagbladet in Malmö. In 1996 he began his professional career as a freelance photographer, specializing in reportage and portrait photography. Today he works for Swedish and international press and has been published in most of the major swedish newspapers/magazines. He lives in Sövdeborg, Sweden, with his wife and two daughters, where he also run his studio and a photogallery. In 2001 he was awarded first prize, foreign stories in Swedish Picture of The Year for his reportage, "The Divorce Express Train". In 2005 he was awarded first prize, swedish stories in Swedish Picture of The Year for his reportage, "Johanna". In 2007 he was awarded first prize, sport stories in Swedish Picture of The Year for his reportage, "Parkour".
