Coldwater surfing in Sweden
2006-10-05–2008-08-21Sweden. A place far from perfect waves, warm beaches and circumstances. But surfing is a lifestyle. And perhaps the most devoted, we find in a three degrees temperatures water clothed with thick wet-suits. For it is here, in Sweden, where the race for the waves is most intense. Year-round. Regardless of snow, cold or storms. The waves builds up from storms and travels al the way from Poland to hit the reefs of the East coast of Sweden. 20 years ago surfing was a sport almost not existing in Sweden. But now a good day It can be up to 70 people out in the water in Torö, the surf-spot one hour south of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
