Gas pipeline in Russia
2007-07-23Pessimistic estimates say that oil production has already peaked. One of the few countries yet to exploit its reserves is Russia. Situated in the cold Artic Sea is the Shtokman field, with an estimated capacity of 80 billion cubic meters of gas. At a rate of one kilometer of pipeline per week, five construction workers from Volgagas build the line to the port of Murmansk to hook up the field and distribute the gas to the rest of the world. These are picture from an ongoing documentation by photographer Terje Lindblom.
