Nature´s wonders - Sweden

2007-08-13

"At first I just wanted to get away from society, I wasn’t comfortable there, but now I have begun to think that there may be a reason why I was born in this age." For a year and a half, Johan has lived in a handmade cottage in the forest outside of Stockholm. He hopes that his actions will present an alternative lifestyle to people, other than the one modern society suggests. "Civilization is a war against nature," he says. But it is difficult for Johan to survive in the wild. Hunting with primitive weapons or traps is illegal in Sweden. In order to get by, Johan eats perfectly good food from the supermarket garbage containers. He calls it recycling.
