Stevia vs Sugar

2007-11-10–2007-11-16

Stevia is a natural plant that is 300 times sweeter than sugar but contains no calories. In a fight between the artificial sweetener brands and the stevia intercessors it is now leaning towards a win for stevia. Coca Cola is marketing new products containing the subject, as if they are assuming a positive reply from the FDA in USA. Stevia is permitted and frequently used all over the world, except for Europe and USA where it has so far been prohibited. The spokesmen of the subject say it is only a matter of time until it is permitted in Europe and USA. The Swedish entrepreneur Carl Horn af Rantzien is trying to seize the moment by growing and processing stevia in it's country of heritage Paraguay and also in China. His laborers are poor farmers and his goal is to present a product that stands for fair working conditions and high quality.
