The Batichon family - Haiti

2010-02-22–2010-02-28

The Batichon family lives just outside Léogâne which were the epicenter for the january earthquake in Haiti. 90 % of all the houses in their area collapsed and left only dust, dead bodies and no shelter. The mother, Celestin lives with her two twin-sons Daniel and David and trying desperately to build a new home before the rain-period starts. It is a battle against time and the building must be ready as soon as possible, cause with the amount of food the family have, their energy for building is getting smaller every day and they are growing weaker for every moment. They put their hope in the future to Celestins first born child who was evacuated to France. Hopefully he can provide money for food and shelter but nothing is for sure.
